It entered the war after Russia declared war on it on November first, 1914, following the Battle of Odessa. Ottoman forces fought the Allies on Middle Eastern theatre of World War I, and Ottoman territory itself was in insurgency and rebellions for most of the war, except for a brief period in 1917 when Russian revolution occurred.
